    2017-2018 Junior Board elections are THIS WEEK!!  See information on SDFSCJuniorBoard website as deadlines are tomorrow and Friday.

    The annual Lock-In has been scheduled for Friday June 23rd.  More information and waiver available on the SDFSCJuniorBoard website.

  • Team del Sol Seniors at Nationals

    Coming off a silver medal performance at the Trophy D’Ecosse in Scotland, Team del Sol Senior skated to a season’s best score at this year’s U.S. Synchronized Skating Nationals in Rockford, IL. After an on-ice injury, the team, skating 15 skaters, rallied to earn a 6th place finish in the short program with a score of 43.43. In the Freeskate, the team, at full strength, solidified their 6th place finish with a season’s best combined score of 131.57 which included positive GOEs for their creative intersection and ending creative element. This is an improvement over last year’s 7th place finish at Nationals. The Senior team would like to thank the club for their continuing support of synchronized skating.

  • Team del Sol Intermediate takes Pewter at Nationals

    Congratulations to Team Del Sol Intermediate Synchronized Skating Team for their Pewter Medal performance at the 2017 US Synchronized Skating Nationals in Rockford, Illinois February 22 to 26, 2017.  With a score of 55.83, the team skated their Cool Cats program to an appreciative and boisterous crowd at the BMO Arena in Rockford, IL.  First place went to the Skyliners 65.31. Second Place Capital Ice Chips 59.25. Third Place Star Mates 59.12.  The team had a great skate and the girls looked fabulous!

    We are all very proud of the wonderful season the girls have had, and this competition topped off a season of many successes. They add this medal to their success as Gold Medalists at the Dr. Richard Porter Competition and Gold Medalists at the  Pacific Coast Sectional Championships.

     

  • Senior Team del Sol Earns Silver at Trophy d’Ecosse

    The Senior Team del Sol returned to Dumfries, Scotland to compete as Team USA at the 2017 Trophy d’Ecosse and defend their gold medal from last year.  Facing tough competition from Team Canada (Nexxice), Team del Sol earned the Silver medal.  Congratulations and good luck at Nationals.

  • Team del Sol Intermediate takes Sectional Gold

    Congratulations to the Gold Medal Pacific Coast Champions, Team Del Sol Intermediate Synchronized Skating Team, who competed this past week at the 2017 Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectionals Championships in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The team performed their sassy, crowd favorite Cool Cats program to an appreciative crowd at the beautiful Ralph Engelstad Arena. The program scored 56.72 which earned them first place. We are very proud of all the hard work the girls have been doing and congratulate them on their championship.

  • Shining Blades Success at Sectionals

    Congratulations to Gold Medal Pacific Coast Champions Shining Blades Open Juvenile and Pre-Juvenile! The two teams, led by Coaches Brian Thayer and Susan Morrison, both won gold this past week at the Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

  • 2017 US Figure Skating Nationals

    Ashley Cohen and Camden Rider made San Diego Figure Skating Club proud this morning with their strong performance in the two-part Juvenile Pattern Dance competition at US National Championships in Kansas City.  They earned an 8th place finish among the twelve top Juvenile teams in the country.

    Cohen and Rider started strong with the sharp and clean 14-step, which made the judges take notice of the team, and earning a 10th place finish in that first pattern dance. They then followed with an elegant and smooth Willow Waltz, for which they jumped ahead several positions with a 7th place finish, giving them an overall combined pattern dance placement of 8th.


    San Diego Ice Arena Ice Dance Coach Jon Nichols and Geoff Varner are accompanying Cohen and Rider on their second trip to US National Championships.

  • 2017 Kroc Center Ice ISI Open

    The groups/teams performed today and the SDFSC Synchronized teams (all five of them) took GOLD medals!!! Congratulations!!!
